./configure produces many 'no' results. How can those be evaluated? Is
there a list of required packages anywhere? <br>

binary package? If you built from source, make sure that you have all
needed dependencies when compiling, use
./configure --verbose to determine that. If using a binary, you'll
still need any necessary dependencies, though this depends on the o/s
& distribution.

killing it remotely didn't unlock the system. I could, however, issue a
reboot command via ssh. (Previously I had to resort to that
Alt+SysRq+R,E,I,S,U,B thing.)
