I know I have seen posts recently of people trying to get this game
to run through wine and did not know if the DRM on the game was a
part of the issues they were running into. I'm sending this through
just in case it helps: "A little over a week after its release, <em>The
Witcher 2</em> is getting its first patch, and with it all
versions of the game will now be DRM free...With version 1.1,
however, it will be removed from every version of the game."
