Additionally, if one DOES get winecfg to accept ALSA under the sounds tab, all half-life games (and mods) will not load. They will have the steam loading screen appear, disappear, and then the screen will be resized (if necessary) and no game will appear, but it will be active. You can alt-tab between them, but there will never be any graphics or sound output from the game. I bet you set your sounds to Alsa right?
