The best way to get wine for your system is to compile it yourself. RPM's are
great when you don't have a clue, but wine is pretty easy to install from
tarball. My first install was from a rpm that came with my distro (it was about
a year out of date) my second install was from tarball. .tools\wineinstall
worked good enough that was able to run wine after running it. I now install off
CVS which means I am as up to date as the developers (this has its own
problems). The biggest problem with installing from tarball or CVS is the time
it takes to build the system. On my machine it takes about 3 hours. I can still
use my machine while it's running but it slows everything else down.

My machine: P200, 96Mb RAM, 248MB swap, 40GB HD, S3vidio, No sound card, RedHat
6.0, Ximian Gnome,

Wine runs most of my kid's Preschool games but not all of them. Some better than
others YMMV.
