Summary: program fails b/c fails to detect Win 98/Win NT entry
           Product: Wine
           Version: 20020605
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: wine-programs
        AssignedTo: wine-bugs at winehq.com
        ReportedBy: brendanscott at optusnet.com.au

I can't get a program (Reason by Propellerheads) to run under wine. Reason is
an electronic music program.

It seems to look for some registry (or other) entry to see whether it is
running under Win 98 or Win NT. When it can't find the entry, it exits with a
dialog box saying:

"This application requires at least Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0 to run!"

It does the same thing when I try to run it on Win 95.

A demo version of the app (which exhibits the same characteristics) is
available from:

ftp://ftp.propellerheads.se/pub/dist/win/InstallReason2Demo.zip

This is one of a handful of programs I need to retain the functionality of if
I am going to jettison Win 98 :-(

General thanks to all working on wine btb

Brendan
