It carshed in the same way, like this:
$wine AoE2demo.exe --debugmsg +shell32

wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
And so on until I close the shell.
