This patch removed an implicit NULL pointer check from that function, that's
why it crashes. I wrote a test for this, and Windows also crashes when a stream
that is referenced in the vdecl doesn't have a buffer assigned, so I think that
the patch brings up a problem that lies elsewhere.

Can you attach a +d3d trace?
