Like said in summary, Terrain is not rendered at all. Nevertheless objects like
ships, stations, guns, HUD and even "rock bows" are shown correctly. 
I got a lot of debugging messages like this:
fixme:d3d_draw:drawStridedFast >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502)
from glDrawRangeElements @ drawprim.c / 265

and some of them
