I used the newest version of that file I could find (which is msvcr80.dll
renamed to msvcrt.dll)
It's still stack-overflowing!

err:module:find_forwarded_export function not found for forward 'msvcrt.time'
used by L"c:\\windows\\system32\\crtdll.dll". If you are using builtin
L"crtdll.dll", try using the native one instead.
err:seh:setup_exception stack overflow 0 bytes in thread 0009 eip 7bc4b389 esp
00c31000 stack 0xc31000-0xe40000

(native crtdll.dll solves the first error, but not the overflow)
