[Bug 9840] Font file (ttf) causes Fortress Forever start up failure

Fonts are there, it crashes. I rename the fonts to .ttf_old, effectively
removing them, it launches. This bug has been confirmed elsewhere too

I'll create a log one more time and grep for a crash just in case I
accidentally logged it when the fonts weren't present. I'll also see if I can
somehow better isolate where it crashes.
