This is invalid, as wine doesn't support glidewrapper.
As it works for me, it is very likely that your graphic card is to blame.

If you want to use the glidewrapper, please change the thread policy and see if
something changes.
But I would really advice you to try d3d approach described in the howto of the
games appdb site.
