With later versions of Wine, I now get 
"X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)."

or 
X Error of failed request:  BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib
length error)

  Current serial number in output stream:  8896

when scrolling or moving my cursor to the end of the large file.
