As far as I know I don't need to do anything other than load the simulator and
wait. I've seen the error happen while I was using other applications and not
working inside the simulated Blackberry. So far I've always has the MDS
running.

It could be a timed event triggered by the Blackberry software since it does
periodically check for email, etc. 

You may have to wait 5 - 10 minutes for the error to appear.
