Sure, glad to help. We need a cpu-heavy step for the progress bar to appear. I
think that the Lens Blur filter is enough for it. Open an image in Photoshop,
and make an action containg:
1. Filter-Render-Lens Blur (with "More accurate" option turned on")
2. Close image (without saving)

After that do:
File-Automate-Batch, and choose a folder containing lots of images, preferably
of large resolution (i.e. pictures from the digital camera). Press OK, and
switch to any other application. Photoshop will now let you work normally as
the images and the progress bar will always come on top and become active.
