I'm getting the same issue as Jeff with the top part of the letters missing and
a blank white line on top of the screen. (ea intro video as well as the main
menu)

adding "+restart 1" to the command line brings you to the menu without waiting
for the videos

this issue is present in 0.9.59, 0.5.49 (couldn't find a good version for a
regression test as other users don't seem to be affected by this according to
the appdb comments)
