Yep, that workaround solved my problem.

I was having the same issues as described in that bug:

Namely, wine was giving me this error:
preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000

I had to install photoshop again though, this time with serial. My last install
was a tryout and though I was able to insert the serial/activate it afterwards,
I got another error. I've attached the error dialog. I'm not sure whether I got
this before or after installing updates.

Anyway, reinstalling the application with serial worked.
