Looks like it should be straightforward to implement a testcase for item 2, and
a stress/performance test could be setup for item 1 that would just be a test
case that adds lots of similar items (e.g. from a dictionary).

It would be useful to find out if this is a standard or virtual listview, as
virtual listviews should perform better. Also, is it known whether the listview
is sorted or not?

All these combinations should be tested though, so they behave correctly.
