Of course, in this case nothing did regress, on the contrary it improved, but
same git bisect approach can help to isolate fix that improved it (by reversing
the logic and assuming improvement in speed is "regression". If you find the
commit which introduced the change, then, perhaps, it will become more clear
what is to blame for this lag.
