Today I made some improvement :-)

Since I already have the register entries for 1036 (French language)
I did copy both directories named 1036 from my XP installation in the
respective places of Office11 and System32.

Now I can change the language to French and it doesn't try to install them
anymore. However if I start the Spellcheck with an obvious mistake, it still
does tell me that the checking had been successfully completed.
There is obviously something still missing. Did it check the dictionary at
all?? I have the feeling it had been skipped/Everything is seen as OK.  

Now it tells me that the proofing help for French had not been found. It should
be on my Office 2003 installation CD. Does anyone know which file it is?
