Actually, I don't need anything.  As I said, I found a work-around.

I was just pointing out a bug in the hope that it might help 
improve the quality of wine.  

I don't know enough about wine to work out which component is generating 
the error.

However, using the high-tech tool of Google turns up this thread:

which suggests ntdll might be the component.
