The bug seems to affect at least all opengl child window apps when kwin (kde4)
its composition manager is enabled for desktop effects. The issue is that the
child window its parent doesn't have an X11 window yet. Due to this the child
window its parent is the root window and that one is managed by the composition
manager and a window can only be managed by one client app. This results in
BadAccess. Likely compiz is affected too.
