I already tried that patch but it was that who caused the game to crash at
first, once applied.
Now I can start the game with the original CDs (at least on my desktop
machine). I had to edit my /etc/fstab file in order to have all the cd-roms
mounted in the same location, so i could map it to a wine drive.

I dunno. I tried installing Intel codecs using the winetricks script available
here: http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks , but the movies are still skipped.
I also tried getting the ivfsrc.ax file from my Windows XP installation

Done it. Using the +avifile switch I can see it tries to load
"J:\\tbd\\OpeningCinematics.avi" and so on (J: is my CD-ROM drive as it is
mapped in winecfg), but i don't understand why it doesn't play a thing.
Tried also taking the ivfsrc.ax file from my Windows XP installation, but it
didn't work.
