Yahoo Messenger for Vista installs ok if you pick Vista mode in winecfg, 
but doesn't run.

It is said to require WPF, which is kind of like the second coming of gdiplus,
but much, much larger. 

Mono has no plans to implement WPF
(see http://www.mono-project.com/WPF )

FWIW, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Presentation_Foundation
mentions that WPF consists of a bunch of managed components
plus two native DLLs: milcore.dll and windowscodecs.dll.
