Unfortunately, I cannot attach the certificate to an 'open' system such as
this, as it is my company's official corporate certificate.

It is a brand new (well, less than a year old) certificate purchased from
VeriSign.

I can say that this problem did not occur with an older (long expired)
certificate, so it must be something different with the way VeriSign generates
certificates these days.

If you cannot debug further without my .spc file, we may be able to work
something out via private e-mail.
