Sketchup is using Earth's COM api
( http://earth.google.com/comapi/ )

Here's a log from Sketchup trying to retrieve an image of the ground,
timing out after waiting 60 seconds or so?, 
finishing, importing the image (with progress bar), and then
crashing.

The image file mentioned in the log exists and looks fine,
so the problem seems to be on Sketchup's end at the very
end of importing the image.
