This bug has followed me through several versions of wine (currently 1.1.10),
kernels, etc. It only occurs in TF2 and only at 1680x1050 (I was problem-free
with my last monitor at 1600x1200). Making hl2.exe run with wine acting as
windows 98 prevents the crash (but also ruins performance). Launching the game
with -dxlevel 81 has no effect. The game will not run with the pixel shader
turned off. I haven't been able to find a cause for this bug, but it may be
tied to a certain amount of mouse/keyboard input. Also, the game now crashes
cleanly instead of leaving a defunct hl2.exe.
