--- Comment #88 from Jamieson Christian <jamiesonc at tds.net> 2008-12-26 23:57:27 ---
I experienced a soft clicking sound (every half second, kind of a "flicking
paper" sound) when playing Half Life 2 under Wine 1.1.8. The problem did not
manifest in the stable release, Wine 1.0.1. The problem still existed as
recently as Wine 1.1.11.

However, the problem NO LONGER PRESENTS in Half Life 2 under a git from today
(wine-1.1.11-153-g424cb27). The most likely cause of the fixed behavior is the
Dec. 22 commit from Reece: "dsound: Correct the dsound fraglen calculations."
Thanks Reece!

Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid)
ALSA 1.0.17
PulseAudio 0.9.10
(I have not made any modifications to the default audio setup for Ubuntu 8.10.)
