Well, I misunderstood what Alexander Nicolaysen Sørnes said in the comments
for the bug 10303, http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1886#c29. In any case
that comment of his means WMA and WMV should be playable in WMP 9 now. 

The installer for WMP 9 still has minor bugs, but can be installed and used
already, as he says. So also this bug gets fixed for that part once the
installer gets fixed, and will only concern plain Wine cases when those codecs
are not available.
