As I reported in the application database, I have been having the same problems
with Gentoo Linux, so the problem is not limited to Debian based distributions.
I haven't paid attention to the xorg versions that I have been using while
testing Mpeg2Schnitt and Wine, but I've had the problem ever since Wine 0.9.16
was released.

But if you still think that testing different xorg versions would help, let me
know which ones you have in mind.
