I noticed a similar problem when playing Half-Life 2.
During the intro sequence where the gman talks to you I don't see thing, it's
simply a flickering solid color screen.
As soon as this sequence ends and you sort of "wake up" in the train the
graphics work again.
I tried this both with backbuffer and fbo ORM, neither of them works. So HL2
probably triggers the same problem like MP2 with "postprocessing" set to high.
