The program is written in VB6, the source code in the SetupPixelFormat is:
...
flags = PFD_DRAW_TO_BITMAP Or PFD_SUPPORT_OPENGL Or PFD_SUPPORT_GDI
pfd.nSize = Len(pfd)
pfd.nVersion = 1
pfd.dwFlags = flags
pfd.iPixelType = PFD_TYPE_RGBA
pfd.cColorBits = 24
pfd.cDepthBits = 16
pfd.iLayerType = PFD_MAIN_PLANE
PixelFormat = ChoosePixelFormat(hDCsp, pfd)
If PixelFormat = 0 Then GoTo PROC_EXIT
If SetPixelFormat(hDCsp, PixelFormat, pfd) Then
DescribePixelFormat hDCsp, PixelFormat, Len(pfd), pfd
If pfd.dwFlags And PFD_NEED_SYSTEM_PALETTE Then
' Not supported as now
GoTo PROC_EXIT
End If
' Create a OpenGL context
hRCsp = wglCreateContext(hDCsp)
If hRCsp = 0 Then GoTo PROC_EXIT
' Setting up the current OpenGL context
If wglMakeCurrent(hDCsp, hRCsp) = 0 Then GoTo PROC_EXIT
....
It uses the device-indipendent-bitmap to render.
