Just tested Ableton with the newly released wine 1.0-rc3 , some new error
message that may indicate further what the issue may be :

err:d3d:WineD3D_CreateFakeGLContext Can't find a suitable iPixelFormat
err:d3d:InitAdapters Failed to get a gl context for default adapter
fixme:shell:IShellLinkA_fnGetPath (0x142f88): WIN32_FIND_DATA is not yet
filled.
fixme:win:FlashWindowEx 0x33e254
fixme:event:wait_for_withdrawn_state window 0x1002a/1c00008 wait timed out
