How about, in the meantime, using "lp -d" instead of "lpr -P", then? I hear
that lp is the POSIX-standard print command, with lpr being a second-class
citizen, or from the CUPS perspective, a compatibility layer. In Debian, lp is
in cupsys-client, but you need cupsys-bsd to get lpr. Would this be a problem?
