This is KDE's problem. Try using "xrandr" command to change resolution to the
smaller one. Then restore it with 'xrandr -s 0'. If you have the same effects -
them Wine has nothing to do with this.

Keep in wind that most native Linux games using XVidmode instead. You can
configure Wine to do the same - see http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys
