I have this problem too
This patch breaks the launcher of Rome total war demo.
lspci | grep -i audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)

Otherwise, the sounds works quite fine for me. Bu this patch makes this crash.
