I wasn't able to download it from download.com - the download was being
interrupted over and over again. I've fetched it from
http://downloads.gamezone.com/demos/d3282.htm

The setup utility behaves similarly - wine quits on entering Audio tab with
ALSA/OSS sound enabled.

I have turned off the sound in winecfg, enabled the sound in the Red Faction's
setup application and turned it back on in winecfg. After these operation
ingame sound works fine.

Would you like to see the stderr?
