This problem persists today.
To repeat, start Linux Firefox, then start Photoshop CS2,
then try to bring Firefox to the front.  You can't.
Linux Firefox can't display itself in front of
the splash screen (but Firefox's pulldown URL menu can).

This problem is annoying only because the splash
screen stays up so darn long, and it'd be nice
to be able to do something while you wait for
Photoshop to finish loading.
