No it doesn,'t; I start steam, then double-click on 'Half-life demo'; the
screen resolution changes, then there is a brief black screen (about a tenth of
a second), then I get back to the steam interface. In the console I don't have
any winedbg trace, even though I have this in system.reg:

[Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\AeDebug] 1194976062
"Auto"="1"
"Debugger"="winedbg --auto %ld %ld"
