random (?) crash in nfsmw

Same thing here. Menu works like a charm, but cannot change graphics.
Quickrace works after a few tries, but after ~5 min the game crashes.
wine 0.9.57,
ubuntu 7.04, nvidia gf 7900gtx, glsl
used alsa with full hardware accel.

when I use oss, sound crashes and loops the last half second, but I can drive
the race, finish it and start new races. sound does not recover until you
restart the game, it keeps looping the last played sample.

without sound, quickrace worked fine.
