I can't say this way what the problem is. Is the game using OpenGL? If so run
using WINEDEBUG=+wgl and attach the log.

In short I don't understand why this patch would cause issues. For years wine's
opengl has been limited to the use of 1 pixel format. As of the patch this
limitation was lifted (because Alexandre fixed the parts which caused the
limitation). The patch adds dozens of more pixel formats which should make
games a lot happier.
