You were correct on that google'ing.  Sorry.

I ran 'sh winetricks dcom98' and reset wine to Windows 98 mode (at least for
Skype.exe).  It _does_ work, and does not crash.  At least it ran for 10-15
minutes without crash.  One note though, the graphics are EXTREMELY slow.  By
that I mean it can't keep up with my typing in a chat window (I have a log
recorded, if that helps).

I also tried running in other Windows versions, they all throw the error
"Cannot load the DLL (SETUPAPI.dll)" when I try to run Skype.
