The program "hangs" because it crashes:

wine: Unhandled page fault on execute access to 0x00000000 at address (nil)
(thread 000f), starting debugger...

and..

=>1 0x00000000 (0x7ec20940)
  2 0x00465298 in sfhlp02.sys (+0x5298) (0x7ec209c8)

This is the much-maligned starforce driver.
