Neil, I'm able to install, start, create characters and run game in Heart of
Winter with latest git. The concern about wine prefix isn't that you may have
something else installed, it has more to do with this: prefix reuse in
different wine versions sometimes causes strange problems. I just had one of
those when trying to install HoW (it wouldn't install until i tried with fresh
wine prefix). Also new prefix guarantees you get all default settings. Of
course, I can't tell whether this is what causes your problem or not, but to be
sure please try to reinstall everything into newly created wine prefix and
retest.
