I have tried this with versions 0.9.57, 0.9.58 and the latest git source and
have not been able to reproduce the problem. I have also tried it on Windows
with the same effect. Both of these are on laptops.

NOTE: Are you sure the mouse hasn't moved? Any slight movement will cause a
mouse movement event, resulting in the focus moving to the menu item over the
mouse cursor (in your example, the 'Search' menu).
