I have the exact same problem. Ubuntu x64 8.04. I started with the Kubuntu 8.04
Beta about three weeks ago, and Steam worked fine for a while, but then after a
few upgrades later it stopped working, and I've been getting the blank screen
ever since. I can still play games, but I can't browse the store at all.
