Yeah, I always got the
libGL error: drmMap of framebuffer failed (Not enough memory)
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
when launching 3D apps in Wine (sometimes even by just launching wine at all).

I workarounded this by applying the "reintroduce X11DRV_setup_opengl_visual"
patch and calling ulimit -s unlimited before running Wine, but with the mmap
patch it works fine without changing the stack limit.
