wine output

Also observing this.  wine output is attached (I quit by Alt-F4).  wine version
is wine-1.1.8-156-g1dba41b.  I have an 8600 GT, with proprietary NVIDIA driver
173.14.12.  I'm on Ubuntu 8.04.  Like the original reporter, everything works
until then (logo, cutscene, etc.).  Sound works for me up until the menu
(there's no sound on the black menu itself).

Also note that I used "winetricks vcrun2005" and copied d3dx9_35.dll and
d3dx9_36.dll into appropriate directories before trying the game.  Others
suggested that these were necessary to get the game to run at all.  It happened
regardless of whether I used a virtual desktop.
