Yes.
Also, if you are do you have the ALSA audio driver set in winecfg? No, OSS
Does sound work in other programs (e.g. flash in

Already doing that.

Is this a typo?   sudo alsactl init gets me "alsactl: Unknown command
'init'..."

I must be using a different type of alsa then you are familiar with.
"Usage: /sbin/alsa {unload|reload|force-unload|force-reload|suspend|resume}"
So I reloaded, no effect

I will check these bugs. Thanks for your help so far.
