Update - the app works with v1.1.9 (i.e. no screen problems) on another system
(Compaq Presario laptop) running Ubuntu 8.10.  On the original system, I've
recreated .wine and reinstalled the app per my instructions, but am still
having the screen problem with v1.1.9.

On the laptop (i.e. the working system), 'lspci' reports the video card as "ATI
Technologies Inc RS300M AGP [Radeon Mobility 9100IGP]".  I'm still experiencing
the reported bug, though (error 5).
