I just ran the tests following the same steps as in the original bug report
(latest version from git).  All 385 tests completed without any lockups. 
However, I'm running a new CPU, motherboard, and graphics card now (ATi instead
of NVidia).  Whether it was a hardware change, a change in Wine, or an update
to any of the system softare that fixed the bug, it seems to be fixed now.

Since no one else has duplicated this bug, I figure it can be closed.
